Applying to be involved in the Ageing Innovation Accelerator Programme was the first step for Your Health and Care in forging what has proved to be a lasting relationship with the Innovation SuperNetwork team.
Glenda Devlin’s passion and drive comes from what started as a very personal journey. It was Glenda’s Aunt Peggi who inspired the development of her private app which allows families to upload and share memories of their loved ones, creating a legacy to pass down to future generations.
Innovation SuperNetwork has worked with Glenda, founder of Your Health and Care, since 2018 and has watched as her concept developed into a product that is now market ready. Whilst the Ageing Innovation Accelerator Programme was Glenda’s first contact with the team, she has gone on to access lots of other services including receiving intensive business support and guidance over a six-month period, attending two FinanceCamps and working with our INVITE programme leaders on pitch coaching.
More recently Your Health and Care were included in the 2019 Innovation Showcase as part of VentureFest North East. They also won the coveted Healthcare and Life Science Innovation Award as part of the North East Innovation Awards at this event.
Glenda shared with us why her relationship with the Innovation SuperNetwork has played such a significant part in the Your Health and Care journey:
‘It has been a really rewarding experience working together. Through the help and guidance of the team I’ve been able to tap into the right help and advice at the right time.
‘I am now in a position where the business is attracting significant investment which has enabled us to create a fully functioning app that works across all platforms. We have also received support from the National Innovation Centre for Ageing, Newcastle University, AGE UK, NHS led cancer patient and carer groups and local community organisations.
‘These connections have been gained through the Innovation SuperNetwork and it would have been much more difficult to tap in to such a vast range of networks without their encouragement and support.’
