VentureFest North East takes place in the heart of Newcastle, a well-connected central hub of thriving North East businesses.

In 2023, the two-day event took place across two central venues, both of which have inspired and housed leading regional innovation of the past. VentureFest North East inspires further transformative innovation practice within the same historic walls.

Day one (Wednesday 10 May) is a packed day of inspirational speakers, exhibition, networking and Awards. It will took place at Boiler Shop.
Day two (Thursday 11 May) offers a diverse range of pragmatic and insightful workshops and seminars. It took place at The Common Room.

About the venues

Boiler Shop

Located in the heart of the city, just a few minutes walk from Newcastle Central Station, Boiler Shop was first constructed in the 1820s, at the height of innovation, for the world’s first locomotive works, Robert Stephenson & Company. The building underwent a large restoration project in 2016, creating a state of the art, dynamic events space which now plays host to some of the city’s most prestigious and exciting gatherings.

The Common Room

The Common Room is a unique heritage venue in the centre of Newcastle. The building celebrates the region’s engineering history through education and engagement, with a vision to inspire the next generation of innovators and engineers.

Getting There

Boiler Shop and The Common Room are both city centre venue therefore we’d encourage delegates to use public transport to reach both days of  VentureFest North East. Both venues are located very close to central station, metro stations and bus stops. If you plan to come by car however, there are plenty of car parks nearby!
