FinanceCamp at VentureFest

Could sixty seconds be enough to transform your business?

In 2018 we refreshed the format of FinanceCamp at VentureFest to give businesses the opportunity to attract investment through a series of fast-paced one-minute pitches before having the opportunity to network with potential prospects. There’ll also be an opportunity for businesses to meet with other lenders and funders with one-to-one meetings in the afternoon.

FinanceCamp helps businesses explore the different sources of funding available and weigh up the options that best fit. We have pre-events to help you prepare your business for investment and help you practice your pitch. Then, when you’re ready, we’ll connect you with the people who can make it happen.

Whether you need a £1,000 start-up loan or a multi-million-pound equity funding round, you’re on the right path to the right funder.

On the Day

FinanceCamp: 60-second pitches

What to expect: Hand-picked businesses with bright ideas will take to the stage to present their business proposition to a room-full of investors looking for their next big business opportunity. Pitches will be followed by a working lunch where investors can follow-up directly with prospects in a business marketplace.

FinanceCamp: One-to-one meetings

What to expect: Mirroring the format of our large-scale FinanceCamp summer conference, businesses will have the chance to meet lenders, grant providers and other funders in a series of short one-to-one meetings.

What will I get from this?

We hold free ‘Understanding Investors’ pre-event training, which gives delegates the opportunity to get to grips with the right funding options for them, develop their business proposition and practice that all important pitch.

This free training, is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to examine their business plan, marketing strategy and growth potential before approaching potential investors and funders. It maximises the chance that businesses will then go on to secure funding as part of FinanceCamp at VentureFest North East.
