For this challenge, we are looking for businesses and entrepreneurs with solutions to enable mobility and movement of visitors, workforce and residents in rural North East England in sustainable and viable ways.
The design sprint
Following a 3 day design sprint with researchers, experts and innovators to discover, define, develop and deliver new viable rural mobility solutions, we collated this information and delivered it as part of a webinar. You can view the slides to this webinar here.
To deliver the solutions and make them into successful products and services will require lead organisations, which could be businesses or community organisations. The solutions will need funding, resources, technology, knowledge and expertise to deliver. Therefore, we are hoping to identify potential partners that can take the lead on implementing solutions and access the support on offer to do so.
How might the solutions progress?
We will be outlining several potential routes to support the commercialisation of the ideas by local organisations, such as grant funding for feasibility projects, other local and national grant schemes and private finance.
There is also funding and support available via Newcastle University and SuperNetwork to help with the development and commercialisation of the strongest ideas.
If you’re interested in submitting an expression of interest to take part in this challenge, then please fill in this form.
