£45,000 per annum plus pension
Permanent role based in Sunderland (currently home-based due to COVID-19 restrictions)
Full-time, with part-time and flexible working options available
The Innovation SuperNetwork is a partnership of 60 innovation support organisations and over 5,000 businesses, working together to support growth in the North East economy. We are an independent social enterprise established solely for this purpose. A key part of the North East LEP’s strategy for the region, the SuperNetwork brings together expertise, resources and contacts from across the public, private and third sectors to create a vibrant network. Whilst open to working in all sectors, particular areas of focus are in energy, digital, healthcare, manufacturing and social enterprise – all areas that are crucial to the region’s future success.
The past couple of years has seen significant growth in our activities, particularly through increased work with cluster organisations such as Dynamo (digital), Nepic (manufacturing), VONNE (social enterprise), AHSN (healthcare) and the Energy Catalyst consortium. The mixed nature of our funding from public and private sources means that this growth has increased the volume and complexity of compliance work required. We have also recognised a need for improved processes across the organisation to support effective and efficient delivery of programmes. As a result, we have created a new, senior role to lead on all our compliance activities. The Head of Compliance will need to be both a strategic thinker and willing to get stuck in to the work itself. Areas of responsibility will include:
- Strategic oversight of all compliance activities, including informing the development of new projects;
- Development of effective and fit for purpose processes to manage internal compliance and reporting;
- Liaison with funders on project delivery, reporting (including quarterly ERDF reporting) and audits;
- Maintaining records to the required standard as evidence for funders;
- Management of initially one direct report (Compliance Officer);
- Contributing to wider organisational objectives as a key member of the senior management team.
A significant part of our current funding is from the European Regional Development Fund. As such, the Head of Compliance must have a detailed knowledge of ERDF project management and reporting.
This is a senior role within a small but high profile organisation. We pride ourselves on achieving impact through delivery of important projects that benefit our region. Importantly though, we do this through the building of a strong team ethic and ensuring we always behave with the professionalism, friendliness and positivity present in the current team.
If this role is for you, please send your CV to email@example.com as soon as possible and not later than 31st January 2021. For an informal chat about the role, please speak to firstname.lastname@example.org. Initial interviews (by videocall) are planned for Wednesday 3rd February.
