At the Innovation SuperNetwork we’re on a mission to accelerate the rate and success of innovative businesses in our region. We are proud to be delivering the North of Tyne Combined Authority’s Digital Cluster Development Programme, in partnership with Dynamo North East and Health Network North.

The Innovation SuperNetwork is a unique regional programme, helping to cultivate a stronger innovation eco-system in the North East of England and support innovative businesses. The Digital Cluster Development Programme has ambitious goals to develop lasting digital sector innovation clusters across the Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland economies.

The SuperNetwork includes:

  • High profile events to raise aspiration and innovation expertise amongst regional businesses;
  • An active Access to Finance programme to connect regional innovative businesses with investors;
  • Support for regional business clusters and networks to increase levels of innovation;
  • Linking businesses with sources of expertise and support;
  • An open innovation programme, connecting regional businesses with innovation challenges posed by larger businesses and the public sector.

The primary way we deliver innovation support is through Innovation Managers. These are highly experienced individuals with an in-depth understanding of their fields. Most have a specialist background (including science, technology, engineering, finance, entrepreneurship, open innovation, or design thinking) combined with commercial experience. All are driven by a desire to see the region thrive through applied innovation.

These roles are high-profile, externally-focussed and with the potential to have a huge impact on our region.

The ideal person will have experience in working with SMEs in the Digital innovation sectors. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of the North East England economic development ecosystem, excellent communication skills, both on a one-to-one basis and in front of an audience, are crucial to the role, which will focus on building networks and connecting people. You will need to be motivated, organised and love working with people to make this work.

The salary level for the role is circa £40,000 plus pension.
