Eleven of the region’s innovative businesses have been hand-picked following a search for innovative ideas to be showcased at VentureFest North East.
The annual innovation conference has been showcasing the region’s leading innovative businesses for a decade, and will deliver an expanded programme featuring two days (10th-11th May) of FREE sessions designed to inspire businesses and help them to connect, innovate & grow.
The Innovation Showcase is a popular feature at the event, which also includes a partner exhibition of more than 50 exhibitors offering advice and opportunities to delegates.
Supernetwork, said “VentureFest is a pivotal platform for the region to celebrate its innovation success. In the ten years since the event launched, the region has come a long way with an increase in the volume of businesses adopting innovative practice or developing truly cutting-edge products and services in a range of sectors.
“The event allows us to celebrate the success that is being seen, and I’m really excited to see 11 diverse businesses, all of which bring something different to experience at VentureFest. I’d encourage delegates to really spend some time with the Showcase, there’ll be prototypes and products to use and experience first-hand.”
The Innovation SuperNetwork works with a team of experts from the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC) to discover the products and services at the forefront of innovation, which are being developed by talented businesses and individuals within the region. The two organisations have worked collaboratively to carefully select finalists from all the nominated businesses.
Gillian Middleton, Innovation & Enterprise Manager at the BIC, said “The North East is home to so many businesses who are innovating to improve sustainability, the economy and our . We have worked to narrow down this extensive list to a select few who are pushing the boundaries in their sector and have innovation at the heart of everything they do. The finalists selected demonstrate the range of talent that we have in our region.”
