Supply Chain, You’re Invited

11 January 2019

Alan Whittaker, RTC North

Alan Whittaker, Programme Manager at Supply Chain North East explains how businesses can benefit from learning more about the supply chain.

I know in my experience of working alongside businesses which want to grow in their existing or supporting new supply chains there are a number of challenges which exist.

Aside from the current political and economical landscape the typical barriers which they face include; gaining knowledge of opportunities in new markets which they could potentially support. Understanding the key entry requirements to access the markets, risk of investment and of course keeping up to date with technology and realising its application and benefit within their business.

If any of these things causes your business problems, then I’d like to welcome you to the Supply Chain North East launch event on 24th January at the Crowne Plaza in Newcastle.

This new, multi-million-pound programme is being launched to help North East businesses grow, diversify and unlock new market opportunities.

Supply Chain North East will provide businesses with tailored, specialist advice in areas including sales and marketing, digital transformation, accreditation and compliance. Market specialists will be on hand to provide industry insight and sector knowledge on UK and international supply chains.

We want to work with businesses in the following sectors which want to build on their strengths and take advantage of opportunities for growth in new markets:

  • Advanced manufacturing
  • Subsea, offshore and energy technologies
  • Automotive and transport
  • Health and life sciences
  • Digital, tech and creative
  • Process, chemical and pharmaceutical

An integral part of the North East Growth Hub, Supply Chain North East will see four key partners, RTC North, Generator, North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA) and North East Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC), join forces to work with over 800 businesses between 2018 – 2021.

We’re thrilled to be delivering a programme that can make a real difference to local businesses in the North East by tapping into national and international opportunities. Supply Chain North East is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
