“I am so happy to have joined the Innovation SuperNetwork team and can’t wait to get started! The role is all about building bridges between small/medium businesses and larger organisations that have access to much larger markets by running innovation challenges, innovation competitions, accelerators and corporate venture programs.
Innovation SuperNetwork is a unique regional programme, delivered with North East LEP and 50 partners to strengthen the innovation ecosystem and boost the innovation activity of the North East of England. Our aim is to maximise the potential of all the great innovation that is already happening in the North East, and create new connections across different the business sectors which does not happen much today.
I am most excited about the Innovation Challenges which are tackling the big issues facing large corporates, the public sector and society at large. I will be identifying local businesses that have the technology, talent or services to provide solutions. I will support their applications and give them guidance on working with these larger organisations. It is a win-win for everyone.
I have always had a keen interest in science and have a physical chemistry PhD from Manchester University. During my career so far I have worked for Shell, BASF, Volvo, had 17 years of experience working at Procter & Gamble and have set up a micro business. So it is fair to say I have been at both end of the spectrum. At Procter & Gamble I worked in front end innovation and have a proven track record of creating consumer products and commercial innovations across multiple fast moving consumer goods categories that successfully built the business. I love new ideas, passionate about innovation, consumer understanding and am an experienced workshop facilitator. I just can’t wait to start building bridges in the North East and putting innovation on the map.”
